How to remove the black stains on anti-slip spots on the bottom of bath tubs

In most cases the black stains will be from mold or mildew growing underneath or on top of the spots. These surfaces tend to hold a lot of moisture and soap scum. First try a mild bleach product or peroxide solution. If this does not work a vinegar and baking soda combination can be applied. The commercially available mold/mildew sprays will work as well. Whatever product is used a dwell time of 10-15 minutes should be used. During the dwell time scrub the spot with a stiff brush working in the solution. Rinse well and let dry. This process may need to be done more than once.
